SALTY DOG LINE COOK
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Line Cook to join our back-of-house team in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, maintains high culinary standards, and works efficiently as part of a team to deliver consistently excellent dishes. You'll be responsible for preparing menu items to specification, maintaining kitchen organization, and upholding health and safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards. Operate and maintain assigned kitchen station(s) efficiently during service. Work collaboratively with other cooks, prep staff, and expediters to ensure timely and accurate service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the line and work areas throughout service. Set up and stock stations before service; restock and clean down after service. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, labeling, and rotating stock (FIFO method). Handle equipment safely and report maintenance or safety issues promptly. Support prep and other BOH tasks as needed during peak times or special events.

Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience as a line cook or in a similar role in a high-volume or upscale dining environment. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment. Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Excellent teamwork, communication, and time-management skills. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Culinary school training or relevant certifications a plus.

What You Will Do
• Greet every guest with a warm welcome and a smile.
• Manage the seating chart and waitlist efficiently, ensuring smooth flow in the dining area.
• Work closely with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to provide legendary service.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Answer phone calls and provide guests with information about our menu and services.
• Keep up in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
